Main Skills: Guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, aquiring cups of tea as if by magic from the most unlikely places.

Frontman and creative brain behind The Violet Jive, also part of the six piece Latin/Afro-Cuban group Ark-Cubanos, and a hybrid of the later and The Violet Jive...The Cuban Violets!
He also imparts his ever expanding knowledge of the guitar onto anyone wishing to learn.

Steve started playing guitar around age 12, forming bands, gigging, and being firmly bitten by the music making bug. During his teens it was Rock, Blues, Indie, Grunge, on to making drum 'n' bass and breakbeats in his early 20's, with a nod of approval from LtJ Bukem for several tracks. Then the guitar flames reignited in the form of flamenco, latin and jazz styles, leading him out the other side as a complete wreck of a boy with a hard to please taste in all things musically good. A hunger rarely satisfied, but a pleasure pursued and quenched every once in a while!

perfoming Damian Coldwell's new score for the 1920's silentmovie 'To'lable David' live at the Broadway cinema in Nottingham, live sessions with The Violet Jive on BBC Radio Kent, a self produced album 'Far Flung' (released on the bands own label Pitch-Ray Records in 2008), headline slots at various local music festivals icluding the infamous Local & Live and some bustling performances up at Swan at the Globe (Shakespeare's Globe Theatre bar, London).

Graphic Novels, Film Noir, Jazz, Salsa Dancing, 50's pinn-ups ( ala betty page...voluptuous!), The Mayan Civilization, Flamenco Guitar, Good Movies, Good Food and Cooking. And occasionally in his own words "the Heaviest, Ball Breakingly ferocious music i can find!". (as a release from all the niceness and jazz/self improvement theory)
